An Arizona court of appeals has upheld the conviction of Roman Catholic priest Paul LeBrun, found guilty of sex crimes while working parishes in Tolleson and Avondale. The judge in the original 2006 trial, Crane McLennen, gave LeBrun the max sentence: 111 years...US Airways will eliminate 600 ground jobs this fall because of the economy, including cuts from the company's staff in Phoenix. The company also plans to use outside contractors for ramp service work...Arizona Diamondbacks players Justin Upton and Dan Haren played for the National League in the MLB All-Star Game last night. Haren pitched the fourth inning and allowed one hit (he's now pitched five All-Star innings in his career, allowing one run). Upton didn't see action until the sixth inning, when he fouled out on a pinch-hit and played left field, an unfamiliar position for him. A ball flew over his head and bounced off the wall for extra bases. The National League lost the game to the American League, 4-3...Blood-test results are in for Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi, who was cited for DUI July 2. Test results show Taurasi's blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent, more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent. She now faces an extreme DUI charge, with a court date scheduled for July 22...A Valley woman faces fines and possible jail time on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace because someone complained that her dogs bark too much. The charge apparently stems from the complaints of two neighbors; others say they have no problem with the dogs...A brothel owner in Berlin, Germany (where prostitution is legal) is offering a discount of five Euro to customers who arrive for services on bicycles. The owner says the discount is to offset the impact of the recession, and also reduces traffic congestion in the city.
