The governing board of the Gilbert Unified School District approved an increase in athletic fees for Gilbert high schools Tuesday night. Parents will now pay almost double for their kids to participate in sports -- up to $100 per sport from the current fee of $55...A Valley pastor named Steve Anderson says he was tasered by DPS officers during a traffic stop in April, and he's got the YouTube video to prove it. DPS  had no immediate comment, except to say an investigation is under way...Someone painted swatiskas and white power graffiti on the site of the future Chabad Center for Jewish Life in Chandler. Police are investigating, and could consider this a hate crime...Mesa Police Chief George Gascon may have been offered the top job in the San Franscisco Police Department. A source told CBS 5 News that Gascon is a finalist for the Chief of Police position there. Gascon and the Mesa Police Department would neither confirm nor deny the report...The Phoenix Zoo is working to save more than 1,300 Chiricahua Leopard Frog tadpoles. The frogs are an endangered species, with only 80 habitats remaining from the 400 locations where it used to thrive...A woman drove into a gas pump at Circle K near 83rd and Glendale avenues early this morning, sparking a fire. Police say a child on a bicycle rode over and hit the emergency shutoff valve. No injuries were reported, except maybe a bruised ego on the part of the inattentive driver.
