In an online article on the Downtown Phoenix Journal Web site, author Chad Swaney relates the tale of William Nash-McAdam, who had taken the light rail from Mesa to Central Station last weekend. The story says an officer approached Nash-McAdam and his companion, questioning them about the pictures he was taking.
The officer reportedly insisted he saw Nash-McAdam photographing a federal building, and claimed it was against the law to do so. The officer called for back-up while interviewing the pair, saying it was a "Homeland Security issue." Anyway, the article's worth a read.
We called Phoenix police and forwarded them this article, hoping they could comment about the allegations. We'll let you know when they get back to us on the matter.
