State Universities to Boost Fees for Students; "Economic Recovery Surcharge" to Help Cover State Cuts
President Michael Crow of Arizona State University wrote in a letter to the Arizona Board of Regents that students should pay an extra $600 "economic recovery surcharge" per semester, beginning this fall.
So, students should look for the "economic recovery dividend" payment once the state's back on its feet, right? Fat chance.
See the Board of Regents Web site for the increase in fees to the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. The board will hold a hearing on the proposal at all three universities from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 20.
