Detroit homicide detectives worked alongside Mesa police last week, with some help from the U.S. Marshal's Office, in capturing a fugitive who allegedly gunned down four people.

In September of 2007, Edward Winston and another man, Mark DeKhaira Moore, charged out of a vacant field in Motor City, running up with guns blazing to four men playing cards in the driveway of a house. Two men were killed.

Mesa cops had been informed in early 2008 by the Detroit Violent Crime
Task Force that Winston was believed to be in the Phoenix area. Turns
out they were right. Cops busted him in the lobby of a Phoenix Premier
Inn "after a short struggle."

Moore is serving life in prison.
