Don Stapley's County Office Searched by Deputies

Deputies served a search warrant on Thursday at the county office of Don Stapley, a county supervisor who stands accused of numerous counts of felony campaign-paperwork violations.

The search was the latest in connection with the questionable investigation of Stapley by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas. Last month, deputies searched the East Valley offices of developer Conley Wolfswinkel, a former business partner of Stapley's.

According to the East Valley Tribune's Mark Flatten, deputies claim their actions are part of an "ongoing bribery investigation."

It seems odd that the search of Stapley's 10th-floor office of the county building at 301 W. Jefferson Street comes so late in the game.

Of course, nothing about this investigation is anywhere near normal.

It sad that the Sheriff uses "Yellow Press" to convict people before they go to court. Any intelligent person can see (if they want to) that the Sheriff has not found any evidence and keeps wasting resources in an attempt to find anything and to build case or the illusion of a high crime case thru the media. Joe Arpaio and Andy Thomas (Batman and Robin gone bad) have abused their powers and the trust of the people. They are the ones that needs investigating. What more, with this abuse comes lawsuits, which eventually the taxpayers must pay and pay and pay.
If thomas /arpaio can take down the MSBOS, then they can take down anyone, as they move forward with their next witch-hunt of the day.
chadsnow made a compelling statement on the farce going on between MCAO and their client MCBOS: - "chadsnow says: They were probably just looking for the escaped child rapist in Stapley's office."
Stapley and the other Maricopa County Board of Supervisors why in the hell did you approve those power abusers leases at the luxury Wells Fargo Bank Building and the PR / Marketing budget for both that are only bilking the taxpayers. That's the real crime here all who enabled them should go to prison including the culprits hunting you all down.

The only real information comes from the New Times and their courageous stand to fight the battle for all those who have been silenced. Your comments show you truly understand the games being played by arpaio / thomas / pearce and their enablers which include many ignorant, uniformed taxpayers in AZ.
Count your cash and all other personal belongings not on the warrant...I'm sure you'll find things missing that were not on the list Stapley.
They were probably just looking for the escaped child rapist in Stapley's office. How can these sorry excuses for law enforcement justify sending 40-50 deputies in RIOT GEAR to a Board of Supervisors meeting to intimidate a group of union organizers, attorneys and clergy, but can't seem to keep track of a convicted felon... Speaks volumes about Joke's priorities.

In my five years living in the valley I have yet to see anything associated with arpaio that even remotely parallels most operations by professional law enforcement agencies. This is just one more reason MSCO is the laughing stock of law enforcement in Maricopa County and the state of Arizona. Not to mention the really bad press they are getting on a national scale. This is just one more tool arpaio is using to defer attention from the 287(g) issue and the escaped child-rapist.
