Denver Residents Invited to Take Pictures With Scenes of Sunny Arizona

The Arizona Office of Tourism wants Denver residents to think of sunny Arizona this winter by posing with cutouts of scenes from the state.

Local marketing and advertising firm Moses Anshell sent a news release to New Times' sister paper, the Denver Westword, this morning announcing the promotion, which states:

The Arizona Office of Tourism wants Denver residents to "Do Tomorrow Different" by taking their photos "in Arizona." Several cutout boards with Arizona scenes will be placed throughout the city and residents are invited to take their photos with them. The boards present a great photo opportunity for your publication to capture residents enjoying a little slice of Arizona.

"It's an outrage!" proclaimed die-hard Denverite Patricia Calhoun, Westword editor, upon hearing of the invasion of cutouts.

This sort of tourism rivalry is just plain fun. Of course, we won't be laughing by June.
