Fallen Eagle: Despite Recent Benching, Donovan McNabb Gets the Start Thursday Against the Cardinals

Oh, City of Brotherly Hate, are things jacked up in your neck of the woods.

In case you haven't heard, do-everything Philadelphia Eagles' (5-5-1) signal-caller Donovan McNabb - a five-time Pro Bowl QB who once led Philly to four straight NFC championship games - got his behind benched Sunday during the second half of the Eagles 36-7 drubbing against the Baltimore Ravens. The Eagles were only down three at halftime, but McNabb has been playing so poopy most of the season (10 picks on the year) that coach Andy Reid decided enough was enough.

This could spell victory for the Arizona Cardinals (7-4), who were shot out of their perch by the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants this past weekend. However, the Cards still have a stranglehold on first place in the NFC West.

A road win in this one would be, shall we say, the thing to do if Arizona wants to continue its playoff push. At the time of writing, McNabb was expected to get a second-chance, so it won't be easy for the Cards.

The Turkey Day showcase takes place at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, November 27, at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. Tune into the NFL Network for live game coverage. See www.azcardinals.com. - Steve Jansen
