Plays To Mark Prostitution Week

Yup, that's the headline in the September issue of "Notes," which the City of Phoenix delivers to its residents inside the monthly water bill.

prostitution.jpgLet's break it down for y'all a little: So, at long last, our city's fathers (and mothers) have seen the light (red) and are going to pay a deserving tribute to our hard-working denizens of the world's oldest profession?

Egalitarian that he is, will Mayor Phil Gordon see fit to say a words of praise in a little ceremony over on Van Buren Street?

Not in this lifetime, sports fans.

Upon further review, the blurb beneath the classic headline suggests that the city Prosecutor's Office is going to mark Prostitution Awareness Week in early October by presenting "a series of one-act plays portraying people affected by prostitution."

Okay, we get it, we think. On second thought, maybe we don't.

What we do know is that Jay Leno's gonna love this one.
