Lost in love? Your relationship too weird for Ann Landers to understand? Trying to discover what comes next in your life or your music? Bring your problems to Ask Magic, your chance to ask Arizona's reigning slow-jam king for advice on whatever life throws at you. (Click here to ask MC Magic a question of your own.)Dear Magic,

I've got a son, and my baby daddy is there for us, but we're not together. I'm the one that cut the rope, cuz he cheated, but that was months ago. Now I feel like I'm willing to put the past in the past and move forward. Should I try to get back with him?

I don't know how he feels about me any more, but I still have feelings for him!

Thanks,
Over It in Oklahoma

Dear Over It in Oklahoma,

We should start with a question for you: What exactly is your reason for wanting to reconcile with your baby daddy in the first place?

Dear Magic,

First of all, thanks for following me on Twitter, it means a lot. Okay: What should I do if I like one of my exes, even though we've been on and off a lot, and he's always talking to lots of other girls and lying?

We break up and then he always ends up texting me and telling me how much he loves me, and how I'm his first love, and how he misses me. What should I do? After he tells me all these things he always ends up talking and flirting with other girls. Help me, Magic!

Over and Over in Omaha

Dear Over and Over,

There's a saying that goes, "People will only get away with what you allow them to." That's exactly what came to mind when I read your question.

Dear Magic,

I've been with my boyfriend for a year, and lately we've been having a lot of problems. He lies to me and goes behind my back talking to other girls. I've told him how I feel about it and he doesn't do anything about it.

What should I do?

Dear Ignored,

Your story reminds me of one of my favorite quotes, "You don't know what you have until it's gone."

Ask Magic: How Can I Find the Time to Work and Make Music?

Lost in love? Stuck in a relationship quagmire Ann Landers wouldn't understand? Trying to figure out what comes next in life? We'd like to invite you personally to bring your problems to Ask Magic, your chance to ask Arizona's reigning slow-jam king for advice on whatever life throws at you. I am a young woman starting her sophomore year of college in the fall, and I just ended a two-year-plus relationship with a guy who is in the Navy. He's being stationed in Japan, and I was feeling trapped by the thought of tying myself down to someone who isn't around, in addition to that, I'm young and he is all I've known.

Long story short, I ended it because I want to take this time to "find myself." But after two years of being in a serious relationship, I don't know who "I" am, nor do I know where to start on finding that person. As someone who has made a career out of doing what you love, where do you recommend I begin? I'm in school and I have loads of opportunities in front of me, but I'm scared of going at things alone. -- Suddenly Single in AZ

Dear Suddenly Single,

You are in a GREAT position to begin the rest of your life.

Ask MC Magic: Should I Tell My Man I Cheated on Him?

Thumbnail image for magicblog1.jpg
Anyone who follows Arizona's reigning slow-jam king on Twitter or Facebook knows that he's into keeping in touch with his fans. With that in mind -- and because Ann Landers just doesn't know you as well as he does -- we'd like to invite you personally to bring your problems to Ask Magic, MC Magic's new weekly advice column. Love, relationships, hip-hop . . . if you have a question, whether it's serious or a little strange or somewhere in between, MC Magic is here to answer it. If you'd like to ask him a question of your own, click here.

What's up, MC Magic? I love you and your music! I've been with my man for seven years, through ups and downs and thick and thin. During our five years together I made a "friend" at work. He was cool -- someone I could talk to -- and he always seemed to make me laugh and put a smile on my face. While my man was out of town on business, my "friend" kept me company.

After maybe a year of being "friends," I kinda had this guilt ghost haunting me. Before this, me and my man never questioned each other about who we were with or anything like that, but now I've become crazy thinking he's out cheating on me, or I get to daydreaming about those days of my "friend" putting down so that I can't even get in the mood with my man anymore.

MC Magic Explains Why "We Can't Stop" Is the Right Move For Miley Cyrus

Categories: MC Magic

Miley Cyrus We Can't Stop
@MileyCyrus
Within 24 hours the new Miley Cyrus single, "We Can't Stop," hit over two million plays, and I predict 100 million within a week. At first listen it feels like the intro for a new song by 2 Chainz, especially considering the stamp producer Mike Will Made It leaves on it. (To say MWMI is currently a hot producer is an understatement; he's recently delivered hip hop chart-toppers for everyone from Lil Wayne to Future to Rick Ross.)

Miley's also walking the controversy tightrope again, with lyrics that many are taking as a plug for a popular party drug: "We like to party / Dancing with Molly / Doing whatever we want."

MC Magic: Why I Signed Arizona's MOB FAM

Categories: MC Magic

Mob Fam 1
This week I'd like to talk about one of the hardest working, up-and-coming hip hop squads from the streets of Arizona: MOB FAM. This three-member group is made up of real-life brothers Arturo, Javier, and Steve Campos, better know as TS, Young Javi, and SC! These boys have been pounding the streets of AZ with a persistence that just won't quit.

My label, Nastyboy Records, recently released their latest offering, "Champagne Drippin." This infectious single is the kind of joint you put on repeat Sunday afternoon when you're rolling with the top down, speakers rumblin' with that fat bottom, and the warm summer night has taken over. As a matter of fact, the official music video features some amazing arial footage of downtown Phoenix, Chase Field, and a few landmark buildings. It's a celebration of life in the swag lane, dripping with candy painted rides, poppin' bottles and killer verse performances. Here's how they got that far.

MC Magic: Havana Brown's "We Run the Night" Should Have Been an Even Bigger Pop Smash

Havana Brown square
Every once in a while I run into a record I've never heard of, even though it's been out for a while. "We Run the Night," by Australian DJ-turned-recording-artist Havana Brown, is one of those records, and I'm surprised it didn't become a pop smash in the United States.

It boasts over 29 million video hits to date, but it could have been even bigger than that -- I wonder if it got lost in the shuffle at the record label?

Lana Del Rey Online
"Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?" asks Lana Del Rey in the chorus of her latest song, "Young and Beautiful" -- the first single from The Great Gatsby's soundtrack.

Del Rey teamed up with the film's director, cowriter, and co-producer, Baz Luhrmann, to bring us another soulful entree. Listen (and watch) with me after the jump.
