Liquid Sol Music Festival: A Field Guide to Saturday's Event

Categories: Liquid Sol 2014

Time/Place: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sportsman's Park in Glendale near 95th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

Price: $59 for general admission.

The Weather: According to the current forecast, 79 degrees and sunny.

Bring: Good vibes, sun block, blankets, sunglasses, ear plugs (if needed), cigarettes (if needed), and hook 'em horns. One factory sealed non-frozen bottle of water no bigger than 16.9 ounces per person is permitted.

Don't Bring: The usual verboten items at most concerts -- weapons, illegal substances, outside food and drink, drug paraphernalia, recording equipment -- as well as an aggro attitude, desire to mosh, or eff shit up. Oh, Frisbees, beach balls, and balloons are also outlawed. (Save that stuff for McDowell Mountain Music Festival.) More forbidden items can be found on the Liquid Sol website.

Food/Drink: A total of 25 food vendors will be on site, as will a Beer Pavilion boasting more than 30 different microbrew-style suds.

Activities: Since the event benefits local fire and police charities, there will be such things as a "Vehicle Extrication Display," "Firefighters Physical Agility Course," and "Fire Apparatus Show" at Sportsman's Park. A H.A.L.O. Helicopter flyover and a performance by the Glendale Fire Department Pipe and Drum Corps will also take place. Meanwhile, distractions such as a zipline, rock climbing wall, and human slingshot are also planned.
