Liquid Sol Festival, Still With No Lineup, Moves to Glendale (Maybe)

It's been a quiet year for the Liquid Sol music festival, a "Coachella-like" event announced with some fanfare back in February. At the time, it was scheduled for September 19-21 at Canyon Moon Ranch in Florence, the site of the annual Country Thunder festival.

Since then: Nothing. Until Tuesday. The same week the True Music Festival, another new contender, announced it was bringing The Flaming Lips and Wiz Khalifa to Scottsdale, somebody at Liquid Sol's website quietly made some major changes.

The poll asking you to vote for your favorite artists is still there (only now it's locked down), and there's still plenty of onsite camping advice, but the hands on the countdown timer have been turned back a ways. Now -- without any announcement -- Liquid Sol appears to be scheduled for November 2 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

For now, at least, it looks like this might come as a surprise to University of Phoenix Stadium, which is currently scheduled to hold the "Crossroads of the West Gun Show" on November 2 and 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I'm not sure the Arizona Cardinals would go for this, but if the gun show exhibitors agreed to hold the show on the grass, and the grass were rolled out of the stadium at night . . . I guess there might be some safety risks, there, actually, but that's only my first idea. (My second idea is basically the same, only the guns all have bike locks on them.)

As of Tuesday night, their Facebook page, which explains their mission as "[targeting] such performers as the original Beach Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kid Rock, Cheap Trick and Lynard Skynrd," and the rest of their website hadn't been updated.

It could be that they were working tentatively toward a reboot that was only discovered early because yesterday's True Music Festival news sent curious music fans back to their website to check up on things; the first post on the subject from one of Liquid Sol's Facebook likes didn't come until shortly after the Scottsdale festival's announcement.

Who is "Lynard" Skynyrd? For craps sake this band has been around since the 60's and people still can't spell it correctly? Come on already.
