Weird Is the New Cool and Fayuca Open New Year with Tour, Share Video from the Road

High-energy hip-hoppers Weird Is the New Cool and Latin-reggae-punk rockers Fayuca wasted no time in hitting the road to begin their 2013 campaign.

Mere days after the new year dawned, the two local acts launched their Spark the Flame Tour on Thursday, January 3, and paid a little visit to our northern Arizona neighbors in Flagstaff over the weekend. With stops also scheduled in Nevada, California, New Mexico, and Texas, the two groups will be plenty busy in the coming weeks. You can witness some of their tour shenanigans in video form after the jump.

The boys captured some of the action outside of the legendary Monte Vista Lounge in a video posted to YouTube for those who couldn't make the two-hour trip to the frigid town to catch the show. In the following video clip you can see the icy air catching concertgoers warm exhales as band members and fans got together for some freestyle fun and beat-boxing in the great outdoors

Fayuca is making a push for their new album, Barrio Sideshow, which is scheduled for release later this year, and are keeping up a breakneck pace fresh off of a recent national tour with hometown heroes Authority Zero.

Weird Is the New Cool and Fayuca will wrap up this leg of their tour with a stop at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale on Sunday, January 20. More details about the show can be found on the venue's website.
