Don't you just hate when bands do "farewell" tours that turn out to be a total fakeout? Well, while Nine Inch Nails may have pulled that crap in 2009, the industrial band seems to have popped up again in 2013. When Rolling Stone asked frontman Trent Reznor if new Nine Inch Nails music was a possibility, he said, "All signs point to yes. There are some things in the works."
"Closer," a song that's gotten way more people laid than can ever be counted.
On top of that, Reznor has not lost his touch, only progressing in his career -- in the past year, he's scoring movies (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Social Network) and video games, and recorded with How to Destroy Angels.

The band's 2011 release, The Hunter, played on my iPod for months. I loved the direction of bluesy and eerie, slight licks of a cross between Jimmy Page and Radiohead. The band says it is hoping to record its sixth full-length album early in 2013.
"The Sparrow," my favorite song off The Hunter
