Les Claypool's Duo de Twang and Deer Tick Added to McDowell Mountain Music Festival 2013

Les Claypool, assurdely coming to Phoenix with a bass guitar via a small boat.

Do you hear that? Off in the distance? It's the sound of a bass guitar being slapped. Furiously slapped.

That's kinda what Les Claypool (Primus, Oysterhead, Frog Brigade) does, and I'm betting that's what he'll be doing with his Duo de Twang (Claypol plus MIRV) on Sunday, March 24. The act has been added to the McDowell Mountain Music Festival 2013 lineup, joining previously announced bands The Roots, Balkan Beat Box, Dr. Dog, The Heartless Bastards, and Yonder Mountain String Band at Margret T. Hance Park.

The Duo is joined by Americana hell-raisers Deer Tick, added to the Saturday, March 23 lineup, and The JGB Band, which will perform at a special Crescent Ballroom afterparty the same night.

It's all about location, isn't it?
This year McDowell Mountain Music Festival will be held at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix. Some of you might know also know it as the "Deck Park", Hance Park offers the festival a lot more space, access to the light rail, and some great local resources (like our afterparty at The Crescent Ballroom).

The festival will be held on the East side of the park - off of Third Street in between Roosevelt and McDowell roads.
While the location doesn't offer camping, we are looking into it and hopefully will soon have an option.
