Authority Zero Working on Eighth Album and Headed to Mesa in November

Mesa reggae/punk outfitAuthority Zero has come a long way in the past decade. 2002 marked the release of the band's first full-length album, A Passage in Time, and the start of a relentless tour schedule. The band went from playing free, intimate shows at Zia Records to a few years at Warped Tour and a Japanese tour.

Authority Zero has never lost sight of its roots. The band plays hometown shows a few times a year, and these concerts tend to be pretty wild -- frontman Jason DeVore encouraged fans to start a giant circle pit that covered most of the Marquee Theatre floor a few years ago. This year should be no exception, as the band swings by Mesa during its winter tour.

Fayuca, a fellow Phoenix ska/reggae band will join Authority Zero for the "Zerocalypse Tour," which kicks off in Florida and comes to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill on Thursday, November 29. So far half of the tour takes place in Florida, but according to The Pier, more dates will be added soon.

This tour isn't the only news on the Authority Zero front -- the band recently started working on its eighth album. It's a full-length album that will comprise new material and live or acoustic versions of old songs.

Having Authority Zero and Fayuca once again share the same bill will be just like old times, only Authority Zero is still hard at work at building an international fanbase and Fayuca recently won High Times' "Doobie Award" for Best Underground Artist.
