Sound Wave Music Festival Holding DJ Battle for Opening Slot at Event
Attention DJs and EDM artists of the Valley: If y'all are adept at pulling a Rumpelstiltskin and are able to spin up some gold, the promoters of this weekend's Sound Wave Music Festival and have a hankering to hear your stuff.

They're currently conducting a massive statewide DJ battle and the grand prize is certainly a sweet one indeed.
According to the folks at Steve Levine Entertainment, the folks behind the daylong DJ and EDM massive, they're offering an opening slot on Sound Wave's Wakiki Beach stage for one local car or kitten who's got the goods and wins the contest.
To enter, participants must first follow the festival's official Twitter and like its Facebook page. Then, they're required to craft a 30-minute-long mix using tracks and sounds from two or more artists who are scheduled to perform at Sound Wave - including R3hab, Calvin Harris, Seven Lions, and Adventure Club.
Mixes must then be uploaded to SoundCloud and titled "Sound Wave @ Big Surf Waterpark 9/29," followed by their DJ name. A track list also must be included. Lastly, participants have to post their mix to Sound Wave's Facebook page and begin plugging the everloving shit out of it. So far a few local DJs have entered the contest, including Chris Romero and Ryan Collins.
According to the contest's rules, the winner will be chosen on Friday afternoon based on the quality of the mix and the number of likes it receives. Deadline for entry is Thursday by 5 p.m. Entrants must also be at least 18 years or older (sorry rave kids).
