Punk rocker Don Bolles shares a name with a particularly legendary AZ Republic reporter in Arizona lore (the dude got blown up). But this Bolles is legendary too, albeit for more musical reasons. As a member of Germs and 45 Grave, he plowed through the punk rock scene of the '70s and '80s, and has established himself as a prominent author, radio DJ, and punk spokesman in recent years.

This weekend is a good one for those looking to get a taste of Bolles' madness: Friday night he plays a special, post-Lighting Bolt set at the Brainwave! psychedelic dance party at the Linden House, where he'll be joined by His Heavy Friends (including Chris Kirkwood of The Meat Puppets). Then, on Saturday night, he'll perform a DJ set at Rebel Yell at the Rogue Bar.
