Digital Summer is a popular fixture on the local rock scene, but its members have spent a great deal of the last year out of town, hitting up industry heavyweights and networking at festivals from coast to coast. The band's hellbent on solidifying their reputation on a national scale, and it's definitely paying off in regards to the band's third record, Breaking Point, which was released on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.

The album's first single "Forget You" has already been playing in steady rotation on a number of radio stations across the country, debuted at #46 on Active Rock charts, and has been #1 every night in KUPD's 9-O-Clock Four Play for three weeks running.

Recorded in New York with producer Mike Watts (Theory of a Deadman, Adelita's Way), the album features a guest performance by Sevendust's Clint Lowery, and according to singer Kyle Winterstein, it is by far the most personal album the band has done.

"It really captures the chaos we've been through in our lives and as a band over the last two years," explains Winterstein. "Musically, this album extends to a broader spectrum. We wanted to reach multiple sides of the rock audience."

Only time will tell if Breaking Point will garner a substantial amount of new fans, but one thing's for sure--Digital Summer's hoard of loyal followers aren't going anywhere. Besides the fact that the new album has received positive reactions for the band, the fans literally paid for the record.

"The coolest thing about our new album is that it was 100% fan funded," says Winterstein. "When you open the CD, there's a quote under the disc that reads 'This album is dedicated to the fans who made it possible.' We mean that. This is their album. We're extremely grateful for the supportive fan base we have."

Digital Summer is currently on tour with 12 Stones, and is scheduled to perform Friday, September 28, at KUPD's Desert Uprising at Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion.

I have known DS for over 5 years now. These guys are truly talented and deserve everything that has come their way so far and that will in the future. They work their asses off, end result - the most amazing music out there. Their music keeps getting better and better. I don't know how that's even possible, but they make it happen!

They are the best group of guys, so humble, sweet and they truly do care about their fans. They love what they do.

I wish nothing but the best for DS and will always do whatever I can to help them, anyway possible. I love these guys!

Digital Summer is the BEST band ever!!!!! And like I've said for years now, they will be HUGE someday. ;-)

I found Digital Summer at least 2 years ago by chance, on youtube, from the side bar videos. the first song i heard was Rescue Me and i was instantly hooked on the unique sound of their music. its hard yet has a gentleness in it somehow, its as aggressive and melodic with tons of bass and drums (happy dance) Kyle really has an incredible voice that is very honest. i had the great privilege of seeing them live last year and it is still one of my fave concerts ever. they are so fun to hang out and chat with. they arent just "cookie cutter" responses to everyone type of guys. Kyle even challenged me to a game of Rock, Paper Scissors so they would remember who i was. and just a few months ago on twitter, Guido was dared by Kyle to post a funny and gross message in Cesarean sypher (code)  and said if anyone could crack it, they'd send them a free CD of their choise. well my mom and i cracked it and they kept their word. i was really surprised and happy to find they signed it. \m/  pure awesomeness. ^_^ i like that they dont conform to anything they dont want to do (i.e. record labels) and they just keep being themselves. they arent stuck up rock star types. they really are just like any one of my friends. sadly i didnt have a job at the time they were making Breaking Point, so i couldnt financially support them, but i did a ton of street teaming. every time i'd go in a store like office depot or somewhere with a pen display or just blank paper, i would write "DIGITAL SUMMER" and write song names and to find on youtube and facebook..etc. lol. plus i introduce friends to their music whenever possible. :) anyways, they are definatelly one of my top favorite bands and i can't wait to see them again!! oxoxox @Digital_Kyle @Digital_Ian  @Digital_Guido  @DigitalSummer  @Digital_Jon @Digital_Ben  @Ben Anderson @Jon Stephenson @Kyle Winterstein

I found Digital Summer only a few month ago, but these guys just amazed me. It seems like their music exactly what i've been searching for all this time. Powerful music with emotional and strong lyrics and the most beautiful voice that i ever heard. It's not so often the music reaches the most hidden parts of your soul, but DS music does. It's totally expresses that i feeling.I'm so appreciate these guys and the way that they chose, to make music without any record labels. No matter how hard it could be, they always rely only on themselves, and makes exactly that music that they want. I can be sure that their music will always be something real and honest. They're not only a magnificent musicians, but also awesome guys, who truly appreciate their fans. And it's awesome to be a part of DS Army, one big family, where people always ready to help the band and each other. So i just want to say thank you to Digital Summer for giving me all of this.

Digital Summer is a great band. Breaking Point is an excellent CD. It's very difficult to pick out a favorite song due to all the songs are awesome. It's an honor to be one of the fans that funded the project. Can't wait to get a chance to see them live. Kind of difficult to do on the east coast. Keep on rocking guys!!! You put out an amazing CD.

First time we watched Digital Summer was in Wichita Ks, they were on tour with Sevendust..  First time we heard them we were speechless.. Their music was so passionate. And they actually took the time to stop to talk to our son who was 9 at the time. They gave him drumsticks and just showed their humbleness to complete strangers.. 4 years later, we are still rocking out to their music.. They are completely amazing group of guys.

This past summer Ram (husband) and Austin (son) tweeted DS on twitter, telling them that they would be coming to Phoenix for a Rock Camp that Austin was attending. Ram asked them if they would possibly meet up with Austin and show him some techniques and what not.. To our surprise they did. Austin got to go to their studio play Ben's drums and jam with the band. Ben and Jon even took the time to come watch Austin perform at the rock camp. Austin was truly on cloud 9 because his favorite drummer took the time to come watch him play.

About a month or so ago when they started on their 12 Stones tour, they were coming to Norman, Oklahoma.. which is close to where we live. We had already planned on watching them play in concert and the day of.. they texted Ram and asked if Austin would be interested playing on stage with them!! WHAT?? Of course!! Austin was totally stoked!! And he did, he's also had the pleasure of playing with them in Lafayette, La and in Twin Lakes, WI.. They have taken Austin under their wing and showed him that their is  "personal" bands out there. They aren't blowing people off or being rude, they are showing love and complete passionate humbleness to their fans. I can honestly say over the past few months we have became really good friends with DS, and I have dreams for them of being the biggest band in the US.. I think their music has the "Ump" to do it. The lyrics in their music touches my heart in so many different situations in my life.. which I continuously listen to over and over.. and makes me want so much for them. Thank You Kyle, Ben, Ian, Guido, and Jon for giving your time, passionate, dedication, and love to give your fans/friends an amazing album!! Thank You!

Worldwide DS listener here from Russian SIBERIA. First of all I want to say thanks to all Digital Summer members for their inspirational music and for a great example for musicians all over the world. If you want to be a successfull band, to gain a great loyal army of fans and to see noticeable result of your work, then you should be the same hardworking as DS guys and the same sociable with your fans. Listening for their music I realized that any song of Digital Summer doesn't get old for me. So I can listen only one band for the rest of my life and every song is for different life situations. And it is actually fun to support these guys - they are always say thanks though they are very busy men. Great connect with fans also consists of the videos of band's touring, recording and other staff. Serious supporters can easily chat with guys and for them it's not like a regular duty but a great pleasure - that's why I can confidently call myself not just a fan but a friend of Digital Summer. These musicians must be heard.

these guys are beyond amaziiiing. I found them back in 2008, I believe when Kyle messaged me on Myspace to check them out & I did & I fell in love right away, I even bought all their songs as soon as I found them. this band has done so much for me through their music, it's unreal. I can relate to them on almost every level of the songs they write & they actually help me through a lot of my tough times. they work so hard to get where they are & they deserve it, when I heard about the kickstarter, I didn't even hesitate to help them out because they truly deserve it & the new album is freaking amazing.

This band amazes me with their talent and hard work. These guys work day jobs on top of their musical journey, which has come this far only because of their awesome music and hardcore fans.  I got into them in late 2009, so I caught them a few months before their second album came out, and they've been one of my favorite bands ever since. Throw away these crappy shallow "Nickelback-type" bands I hear on the radio every day and give me more Digital Summer any day. These are probably the hardest working guys in the business, and their music fully reflects it. The new album is just amazing.

I am from Sault Ste. Marie Michigan and I love my AZ boys!  Ky reached out to me early ’07 My____ old school style  ;)  “Cause and Effect” was the first album I listened to beginning to end upteen times.  I adopted “One More Day” as a personal theme and profile song, and the song still remains the same to this day (it is timeless).  Their passion is what hooked me.  I admire DS drive and independent aspirations.  I am a loyal fan and supporter of their endeavors to “Keep On Rockin’ in the Free World!”  I love you guys!

In late 2007 our oldest son first mentioned the name "Digital Summer" to us, we checked them out on Myspace and thought they sounded great.  We first met the guys in early 2008 when we had gone to see Adelitas Way play at the Clubhouse in the Phoenix area.  It turned out that the band members were friends with each other so I asked a member of Adelitas Way "hey is that a Digital Summer guy?" and pointed at Kyle and he laughed at me and said "this is a Digital Summer guy right here too" and pointed at the guy we were talking with.  We spent awhile getting to know them and they gave us a CD, we drove home and really loved the music.  Over the years since then we have placed window sticker decals on our Mustangs, Challenger and several trucks.  We knew that these guys were going places!  They have a genuine love of what they do and they truly care about their fans.  I know this because just last year they were coming through our hometown and the guys kept in touch with me and knew that our daughter had wanted some photos with them so on their way to Las Vegas they stopped and met us for a meet and greet and photo shoot, they were wonderful!  They are honestly wonderful people with kind hearts and they really put on an incredible show.  Every single time that we have gone to see them play they have always come up to greet us and let us know how much they appreciate our support.  It is for that reason that I go out of my way to purchase extra CD's to give away as gifts and whenever they've had promotional items for sale we always get something.  Just recently on their last tour I read that one of their shows was canceled, but you know what my guys did?  They went to the town where they were supposed to have a show and sat down with their fans and just hung out...how COOL is that???  It is for that reason alone that I will forever be a fan of Digital Summer.  They are incredibly talented young men who continue to impress me with their love for the fans.  Digital Summer I LOVE YOU!!  By the way...I will be ordering more CD's <3 Rodger and Adelita <3 @

Okay so first of all I have all sorts of rock bands that I listen to (Digital Summer included) At first I only had two songs by Digital Summer that I only liked which were: Whatever it Takes and Now or Never.  But then, I went and downloaded every single song by them I could find cause I wanted to see how good they were and I was blew away with their music.  Digital Summer's music is beyond the BEST!  Out of every other band I listen to, no other band can take their place.  My friends have asked me what is my top five favorite bands, its hard to say but the #1 spot goes to Digital Summer because I have fell in love with them and their music, somehow most of their songs has touched me in some way, a good way.  All I can say is, Digital Summer is the BEST BAND IN THE WORLD (or to me, that is) and I am hoping that they keep coming out with some beast songs which, I am sure they will, I have faith in them.  DIGITAL SUMMER ROCKS!!!!!!  <3

Digital Summer is one of the greatest live shows on the planet!!!!! i have been a supporter of their's from the beginning!!!! They are one of the hardest working bands there is and prove it by doing everything themselves and with the help of the most loyal fans there is!!!!! Just got to hang with them at couple shows this past month and besides being an amazingly talented band they are the best group of guys you could ever want to meet!!! i am with Death Grip Clothing out of chicago and we are currently stoked to be trying to get Digital Summer aligned with us and make even greater things happen for both DS and DGC!!!! The partnership would just be considered the epitimy of what hard work is all about and how if you put every thing you have into your dreams and work youir ass off........ANYTHING...AND I MEAN ANYTHING...CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED!!!!! Currently looking to fly out to Scottsdale to catch them at Desert Uprising/Uproar Fest and be part of what i consider the most epic live rock show you can see!!!! One way or another this band needs to be heard and needs to be playing Monster venues with ten's of thousands of people, so that when they are done with there set...the world knows they just witnessed Digital Summer doing what they do best......BLOWING YOUR MIND!!!!!! GET THOSE HORNS UP FOR DS!!!!!!!!! \m/

I remember the very first time I met the members of Digital Summer.  back in 2007, the band members were giving out demo CDs in Mesa after a Deftones show.  even with the ears ringing from the show, i felt compelled to listen to it anyway.  words could not have expressed how impressed i was.  that very night, i picked up their debut album Cause & Effect off itunes.  the rest is, of course, history.  seen a few of their shows, picked up hard copies of their music as the years has gone on, and had the pleasure of meeting them while following their musical journey.  i can honestly say i've never met more hard-working musicians who are so in touch with their fans.  these guys have nothing handed to them and they have built their music from the ground up.  and with Breaking Point finally out there for the true rock fans to enjoy, i only see the best for their future as a band.  they love music, they have a work ethic everyone should strive to have, and they love their fans.  everyone should pick up Breaking Point.  PERIOD!
