The inaugural version of the Soundwave Music Festival at Big Surf last year.

The last weekend of September is turning into a major logjam of blockbuster concerts, to say the least.

Yesterday, we dished all the details about KUPD's two-day hard rock rager Desert Uprising, which kicks off on Friday, September 28, out at Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavillion. Over on the opposite side of the Valley, the punk rock triptych of Rise Against/Gaslight Anthem/Hot Water Music will invade Tempe Beach Park for an evening filled music and mayhem.

The schedule gets even more packed on Saturday, September 29, when the second day of Desert Uprising will take place while a serious grip of Bieber Fever rages at Jobing.com Arena. Oh, and this year's edition of the massive Soundwave Music Festival will go down that same night over at Big Surf in Tempe.

Scottsdale-based nightlife promoter Steve Levine Entertainment announced yesterday the 2012 version of the annual EDM extravaganza, which takes over the entire waterpark with three separate stages of electronica and DJ talent, will happen on September 29.

The festival is akin to the Valley's version of the Electric Daisy Carnival albeit contained in one day. While the first edition last April was marred by a huge thunderstorm, the follow-up in October saw a record crowd of ravers, club kids, hippie types, and electronica afficianados jam into Big Surf

No headliners of performers have been announced as of this writing, but based on who's been booked the last two incarnations of the event -- including Kaskade, Z-Trip, Porter Robinson, Boys Noize, Dirty South, and Diplo -- it is sure to include some eye-popping names.

Tickets, $35 for general admission and $65 for VIP, go onsale tomorrow morning via the Sound Wave website.

For me, I'd like to watch the music party or concert at home via TV rather than watching the live show. It is too noisy.
