Fast Cars and Rap Stars: This Week's Cover Story Has Crime, Glitz, and a Whole Bunch of Hip-Hop
The all make cameos in this week's cover story, "Fast Cars and Rap Stars: How a Sugar Daddy's Empire Crumbled on Everyone Involved," by Ray Stern, telling the strange tale of Scottsdale's Coyote Bay Night Club in the mid-2000s, its owner Nazreth Derboghossian, his girlfriend Jodi Upton, and -- curiously enough -- their connection to hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz.
"One of the hottest Valley party spots in the mid-2000s was Scottsdale's CBNC, short for Coyote Bay Night Club," Stern writes. "Hip-hop stars and professional athletes flocked there. Rap artist and music producer Kasseem Dean (a.k.a. Swizz Beatz) was a regular and claimed he was one of the owners."
And it only gets weirder from there.
You can read the story online, but in my opinion it's the kind thing you want to read in wonderful, inky newsprint.
It's on stands now, with a bright pink cover that also advances our story about Gospel Claws' Joel Marquard and his battle with cancer. Pick one up today.
