A taste of São Paolo is en route to Phoenix. That doesn't mean a new churrascaria is opening up soon, unfortunately, but Brazil's Curumin will be serving up a fresh blend of samba-infused funk and groovy electronic beats when he and fellow-Brazilian Céu come to town.

The half Spanish, half Japanese Brazilian-born rhythm wrangler is kicking off a Summer tour with a scheduled stop at Phoenix's Musical Instrument Museum on Tuesday, June 19, in support of his third album, Arrocha, which is dropping early next week.

Curumin has been making music for nearly 30 years, forming his first band at the tender age of 8-years-old, but it was his sophomore effort, Japan Pop Show, that really started to grab attention. Elements found in his music include reggae, dub, soul and hip-hop; reflecting the vast sonic landscape gripping his native country.

Also serving as a musical ambassador that night is Brazilian pop princess, Céu, who will be on hand to provide a touch of electro-jazz combined with a soulful serenade. How's that for a melting pot of music?
