Over the last 30 years, The Fabulous Thunderbirds have been a blues rock institution, at various times featuring folks like Jimmy Vaughan, Duke Robillard, Kid Bangham, Marc Ford (of The Black Crowes) and ultimate bassist and badass Keith Ferguson.

These days, founding member and vocalist Kim Wilson leads the group. The group's hardly stuck to its strict roadhouse blues roots, instead incorporating those sounds into R&B and rock 'n' roll themes.

Up on the Sun has a pair of tickets to give away to the band's Friday, March 9 show at Crescent Ballroom, along with a Thunderbirds T-shirt and a chance to meet the band. Want to win? Read on.

You could win a pair of passes and a meet-and-greet with the band by following these two easy steps.

1. "Like" us on Facebook, which you can do right here: (Already like us on Facebook? Just skip to step number two.)

2. Leave a comment below telling us your favorite Fabulous Thunderbirds song. (Be sure to use a working email address when you comment, as this is how we will contact our winners. Your email address will not be displayed and we will not use it for any other purpose.)

Only those who complete both steps are eligible to win the pair of tickets. We will draw a winner at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 9, and the winner will be notified that day with the event details.

I have been a fan since the early 80's and love it all, but my current favorite is "Powerful Stuff" because my five year old budding harmonica player adores listening to it and playing it.  He thinks Kim Wilson is the BEST.

Saw them in Philly AND in Seattle! Favorite song hands down is "Diddy Wah Diddy", but how can you not like"Tuff Enuff"?

My favorite song is "Wrap It Up" from the Tuff Enuff album. It has great lyrics and a great groove.. kcusack17@yahoo.com

My fav is "Two Time My Lovin'" from the Tuff Enuff album.  Kim Wilson plays with a different band at the Rhythm Room on occasion.  Great harp player.
