Friday the 13th is supposed to be unlucky, or at the very least, a little disturbing.

Apparently the folks at the uber-hip Sticky Fingers dance party got the memo: tonight the crew of resident DJs host spastic noise-makers Melted Cassettes, described by the crew as being akin to "Aphex Twin,Skinny Puppy or something you'd hear in a futuristic club on another planet."

DJ TrashTalk joins in the festivities, spinning along side the resident DJs at the popular Bar Smith affair.

Give Melted Cassettes' "otherworldly club jams" a spin after the break, and check out four more must-see concert suggestions.

Friday, January 13:

Melted Cassettes will break it down at Sticky Fingers at Bar Smith.

Rockabilly spooksters Curse of the Pink Hearse, Deadman's Curse, and Dead City Saints will boogie down at Hollywood Alley.

Saturday, January 14:

Yellow Minute take the stage at the Yucca Tap Room for a free show.

Sunday, January 15:

Pete Thelen and the Blues Dinosaurs host the 20th Anniversary Benefit for the Paz de Cristo Outreach Center in Mesa at The Rhythm Room.

Thelen describes his latest record, Travels to the Edge, as something like "Delta Blues laid over the ethereal sounds of King Crimson or Trey Gunn."

Classic backpackers Hieroglyphics makes moves at The Clubhouse Music Venue.
