When it comes to local music (and apparently, everything) all things must pass. So goes the reign of punk promoter Will Anderson, whose belly laugh, dirty Avail hat, and jovial smile have been a near-constant presence at punk shows in the Valley for 20 years. Benjamin Leatherman brings us the tale of his departure, and discusses his legacy.

Elsewhere in the issue, Melissa Fossum delves into the storied history of Los Angeles punk band X, speaking with bassist Exene Cervenka about being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, her stance on illegal downloading, and the state of the nation (you know, standard interview topics). Lauren Wise spotlights Cake, the funky-alt rockers who dubiously scored the lowest selling number-one record in Billboard history.

We've also got shorter previews about As I Lay Dying, Chris Cornell, The Black Heart Procession, Puscifer, Trampled by Turtles, and the Party Foul reunion.
