Headroom is scheduled to perform Saturday, December 3, at Copper Blues.
Well, it's December, which means you can't avoid it any longer: it's time to start Christmas shopping. That's my plan at least, a desperate attempt to get it done sometime before, oh, December 23, as is my usual scramble.

But there's plenty of music going on, too. After you get done scouring shops, you could catch the shows previewed in this week's music section, but there's even more out there. Here are our picks for must-see shows this weekend.

Friday, December 2

Tetra String Quartet at Frances

We've been writing a lot about Christmas music, and frankly, no one is doing it classier than the Phoenix-based Tetra String Quartet. You can catch the foursome at the Crafeteria 2011 celebration at Frances Vintage. Check out our preview of the event, and check out Tetra String Quartet here:

B.B. King at Wild Horse Pass

Legendary blues guitarist BB King brings 'ole soulful Luccile to Wild Horse Pass and Casino.

Saturday, December 3

Headroom at Copper Blues

Southern-fried rockers Headroom bring their thick, rock 'n' roll sounds to Copper Blues.

A Memorial Tribute to Paul Thomas with The Rocket '88s at Rhythm Room

The Rocket '88s will pay tribute to fallen bluesman Paul Thomas. Other guests will stop by, and proceeds from the show will be used to help pay for the funeral expenses.

Sunday, December 4

PJ Waxman at Crescent Ballroom

Former Dear and the Headlights dude steps out on his own at a special show at Crescent Ballroom.
