Steff Koeppen Strips Down for an Acoustic Set At Coffee Plantation in Scottsdale Tonight
Drip, drip, drop.
There's nothing quite as soothing as a nice little December shower to cool the senses. Unless of course if you throw in a nice hot cup of coffee and some acoustic musings by Tucson pop rockers, Steff Koeppen and the Articles.
Koeppen along with a violinist from her band will be playing a stripped-down set tonight at the Coffee Plantation at Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale. Although she doesn't have her entire band in tow this trip, Koeppen and company have been making regular visits to Phoenix and surrounding cities; picking up gigs whenever then can while recording their sophomore album, Stories You Can't Tell. "We play in Phoenix probably just about as much as we do in Tucson and it's just kind of something that happens," Koeppen says. "I really, really like the Phoenix music scene. We've been able to make friends with a lot of the local musicians."
"I'm excited to have something new out there," she says. "The last release we had was in the Summer of 2010 so we're really excited to have new material out, and to have a more polished recording. I think that overall the sound is more mature."
You can check out two new tracks from the album here. For tonight's set, Koeppen will be filling a three hour window with old songs, stuff from Stories and even newer material still reserved for a future album.
Our trusty iPhone Weather App is calling for more rain tonight so make sure you dress accordingly.
