Don't call it a come back: mythic Phoenix art-punk Eddy Detroit never went away, releasing a string of albums all throughout the '80s, '90s, and '00s, but thanks to Ammit Records, the vinyl imprint of downtown music shop Revolver Records, he's back in vinyl form. Eddy Detroit Meets the Sun City Girls comes out this week, and we take a look into Detroit's life as a "magnet for the bizarre."

In her profile on Dream Theater, Lauren Wise speaks with new drummer Mike Mangini, who has the unenviable task of feeling Mike Portnoy's percussive shoes. Glenn BurnSilver brings us the tale of another drummer, Mickey Hart, an artist looking to the cosmos for his post-Dead inspiration.

We've also got shorter previews on Bob Log III, The Juan MacLean, Phooson, Scott Kelly, and Iron and Wine.
