Iron & Wine's Sam Beam Scheduled to Bring His Extra Large Beard to The Mid-Size Crescent Ballroom
We pretty much crowned Sam Beam, the songwriter who leads Iron & Wine, "King of Octobeard" last week (okay, he came in behind Zakk Wylde, but still). 
I know a lot of people who thought that Iron & Wine's last record, Kiss Each Other Clean, was too much of a departure from the wispy, folky sounds the band is known for. I loved it; the record was impressive, and I'm a sucker for when the Calexico guys show up to help out.
I'm curious if Beam and co. will be able to pull off the Afrocentric and rock sounds of the record live when they appear at the Crescent Ballroom on December 2 (or who is performing in the Iron & Wine live band). It will be a real treat to see the band in such an intimate venue (tickets go on sale today, and will go fast).
