Most of local band The Dead Eyes of London's music has a distinctive fuzzy rock sound, but surprisingly, the track that seems to be a fan-favorite from their new album is the soulful, almost doo wop-y track, "In the Middle of the Fog". The track is off their current self-released, nine-track second album, appropriately called II.

"'In The Middle of the Fog' is one of The Dead Eyes of London's lighter tracks and seems to be the stand-out song on the record in regard to sound and approach," says singer/guitarist Chan Schulman. "While the other tracks might sound a little more Zeppelin or Sonics, 'In The Middle of The Fog' may be a little more Otis Redding or Buddy Holly -- maybe even lighter Black Keys. It might help to picture a highschool dance in the 1950's."

The band says they are influenced by everything from Motown to the sounds 1960's Liverpool, and this track proves that a band used to rocking out can show off its sensitive side, too.

"The song is just a simple love song about being afraid to lose the one you love, some place where everyone's been a time or two in their life," Schulman says. "What you should take from the song is you shouldn't spend your life in the fog -- wondering, worrying, etc. You should live in the moment and be here now -- don't live in your head."

If you like "In the Middle of the Fog," get excited, because The Dead Eyes of London plan on recording an EP of B-sides and obscure '60s cover songs soon. They'll still keep it raw and fuzzy, and the band also plans on filming a video for a track from the new album.

Check out lyrics for "In the Middle of the Fog," along with the song itself, below.

In the Middle of the Fog

In the middle of the night
I lost way and I lost my mind
In the middle of the fog
Is where I'll be and it's where I'll stay
And I don't want no one else here by my side
I don't want no one unless it is you

In the middle of the night
I still dream of you
Girl, it's all I do
In the middle of the fog
I get so afraid that I'm losing you

And I don't want no one else here by my side
I don't want no one unless it is you

Just say that you love me
Even if it's a lie
Say that you'll always be there
Until the day that I die

I don't want no one else here by my side
I don't want no one unless it is you
