Casablanca Lounge Sets Out to Conquer the Art of the Cocktail October 1 in Old Town Scottsdale
There are plenty of Scottsdale bars that are set up to be meat markets -- the kind of place where bros can buy $10 vodka Redbulls and where Scottsdale's ladies can enjoy consuming those $10 cocktails. At the expense of the bro, of course. 
Owner Amar Patel, the man behind Magnum's Cigars and Ray's Smokes in Phoenix, says Casablanca Lounge is out to change that. Your money will get you a real, finely-crafted cocktail as the lounge opens October 1 in Old Town on Stetson Drive and 6th Avenue.
"It's all about the idea of using fresh ingredients and using people who know how to use those ingredients," Patel says.
Patel employed the help of bartenders Rich Heider II, whose resume includes J&G Steakhouse and BLT Steak, and Tyson Buhler, who crafted cocktails at Jade Bar and Mabel's on Main.
"These guys are artists," Patel says, though he's not ready to release what specialty cocktails they have in the works.
The 4,500 square foot space will feature frequent blues, classic rock and and jazz acts in a dimly lit, upscale atmosphere with leather furniture, a copper covered bar and imported fabrics. The lounge partnered with neighbor The Herb Box to create a menu of small plates and desserts.
