Ah, to pass the harmless sound of Top 40 pop rock onto America's youth. That's really what this country is all about.

Avril Lavigne, Adam Lambert, Colbie Caillat and a long list of other VH1 crowd favorites are out to make the dreams of 12 young musicians come true on The Hub's upcoming reality show, Majors and Minors, premiering September 23. The "Majors" are major professional musicians. The mentees, as Jack Donaguey would put it, are all under the age of 18. They're "Minors," Get it!?

Josh Metzler, a 15-year-old Gilbert boy, was selected among the 40,000 children who auditioned nationwide.

The young, self-taught guitarist, pianist and classically trained violinist has a pretty steady stream of YouTube followers already. It might be partly thanks to his Bieber looks and charm, or maybe due to his talent for covering popular songs, like Katy Perry's "Firework" and "The Edge of Glory" by Lady Gaga.

He already posts Bieb-esque status updates on his Facebook fan page, like "I just wanted to thank you all for all the INCREDIBLE support you've been showing for my new video- you guys really are the best fans ever!! I love you all, you have no idea how much you all mean to me ♥"

The heart is a nice touch.

No word on who will be Metzler's "Major," but we're willing to bet it's Arizona's own Jordin Sparks, who along with Brandy, Leona Lewis, Sean Kingston, Mike Posner and One Republic's Ryan Tedder, have also signed on to foster young talent on the show.
