The Persuaders
We recently caught you up on The Persuaders, a local band comprised of veteran Valley musicians whose influence of 90's sounds can be heard in their music today.

You can check out the group, who plan to release a new album this September, when they play Foundry on First in Phoenix this Friday, July 15 for a 16-and-older show with The Love Me Nots and Jed's a Millionaire. Singer Lawrence Zubia, of The Pistoleros, gave the low-down on one of their tracks, "Just the Same". Check out the song, along with what inspired it and the lyrics, after the jump.

Zubia says, "I knew a girl who had lived in Japan for years working as a fashion model, and she was getting home sick and wanted to get back to the States. So she did. No more than a few days had passed back here in the States, and another Japanese modeling agency called and asked if she'd be interested in returning to Japan . It's a song about that and the metaphor of us all having big decisions to make in life and sometimes, most of the time, very hard decisions, It's about how we look back on how we handled those decisions and how they either benefited us or set us back. It's a song about making huge decisions. I want listeners to relate to it on the level of their own personal decisions they've made in their lives."

Just the Same

She was a girl with a decision
10,000 miles here or there
And in the end it doesn't matter
I loved her just the same
Through all the booze and cocaine
I loved her just the same

She was a green eyed girl from Holland
I still remember her name
In the end it doesn't matter
I loved her just the same
Through all the booze and cocaine
I loved her just the same

She was a green eyed girl from Holland
I still remember her name
In the end it doesn't matter
I lost her just the same
Through all the booze and cocaine
I lost her just the same
