Flier(s) of the Week: Tightholes and Quick Henry

Flier of the Week Tightholes.jpg
Normally here at Up on the Sun HQ, we pick one flier to spotlight as our "Flier of the Week," but this week, we just had to indulge and pick two.

This gig is part first show, part reunion show, part last show, part just another show, and part awesome show.

Friday night will bring crazy amounts of fun ruckus. The Tightholes are reuniting just for this gig, which will be their last show. For the Prosthetics, this will be their first show in almost a year. Gay Kiss will be taking the stage as well.

The 21-and-up show kicks off at 10 p.m. Best of all, it's "free as fuck." More information about the show can be found here.

The wild graphics on the flier pretty much dictate what the energy level of the show will be like.

The bands encourage anyone who comes to drink lots of booze at the Palo Verde Lounge and "inflict carnage." Sounds like a plan. -- Lenni Rosenblum

Long Wong's
Nothing grabs attention like a Commie red backdrop complete with machine-gun equipped soldier and Chinese restaurant font. That's what this week's flier of the week looks like for the show featuring Sister Cities, Page the Village Idiot, Future Loves Past and Quick Henry.

The all-ages (until 10 p.m.), no cover charge show goes off this Saturday, July 23, at Long Wong's in Tempe at 8:30 p.m.

Last week I was told the local band I need to hear is Sister Cities. They were described to me as Joy Division in their prime. Sounds good to me but I'm going to wait for the show before I pass final judgement. Until then take a gander at their music video for "White Dress." -- Anthony Sandoval
