Disappointed you didn't add any Refreshments or Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers.  Also what about Jimmy Eat World - 'Don't  Don't'..."Don't you know that I miss you?  Ninth and Ash on a Tuesday night.(Casey Moore's)"..."Up the stairs at the Weatherford, a ghost each place I hide.(Hotel Weatherford - Flagstaff".  But most importantly most likely the best song EVER written about Arizona....Arizona by Pedro The Lion.  Thanks for the article.

WRONG lyrics for "Arizona" by KOL!

CORRECT:

"The lamp flickers in the bedroom/She must feel as awkward. Whorehouse Arizona..."

The most beautiful song with 'Arizona' in the lyric.

Gotta love the TOOL on this list, as well!!

'Take it Easy' is a Jackson Browne composition that Frey was given . Also where is Little Feat? You can't get from Tuscon to Tucumcari to Tahachapi without spending some time in Arizona.

Speaking of Hoyt Axton; "If the cat could talk"!  There is also a country song from the 70's that I've not been able to find that begins, "gotta see the lights of Tucson".  The song convoy begins,  "Arizona noon, on the fifth of June. . " but some folks tell me Convoy is not exactly mainstream!  Same would probably go for "Who's going to run the truck stop in Tuba City"Was leaving out the Lee Greenwood song a deliberate omission?

When I think of songs with Arizona in the lyrics, I tend to think of Mark Lindsay's "Arizona" first.

Plus, the Rivieras' remake of "California Sun", retitled "Arizona Sun", should have been on here somewhere..

I would have added Limbeck's Coming From Tucson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

"I can't imagine that we won't miss this, Coming from Tucson with everyone sleeping. It was a long quiet drive. Yeah, we took it last night, over the Colorado river."

And in  Vampire Weekend's California English part 2 (B- Side to Cousins) there's a lyric that goes like "Through half the towns of Arizona I dreamed a dream that I have when I hold her"
