Arizona: Land of sun and song.
There have been more than 140 songs with lyrics about Arizona in them. Seriously. Some of them have been big hits by huge acts, too ("Get Back" by The Beatles, "Take It Easy" by The Eagles). The lyrics to these songs capture various snapshots of the Grand Canyon state, from Notorious B.I.G. listening to "slow grooves" in Tuscon to both Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe having dreams about dying in Mesa and tourists chewing watermelon gum, respectively.

We sorted through more than a hundred songs about Arizona, and compiled a list of the Top 40. We'll be counting down the best from 40 to 1 over the next two days. Today, we give you songs 40 through 21.

40. "Niggas Bleed" (Notorious B.I.G.): "Since it's on, I call my nigga Arizona Ron/From Tucson, pushed the black Yukon/Usually had the slow grooves on."

Um, I think you missed one . . . . Arizona / Mark Lindsay.  Not only should it be on the list it should be #1.  It's a song All about Arizona and only about Arizona.  Not just a mention like many of the other songs on the list.
