When you put your key in the ignition and turn on the radio, what station would play right now? 101.1-FM The Beat. I love old school hip-hop.

What's the last song played on your portable music player? "Pinky Swear," The Movielife.

What's the first record you bought? It was a Bobby Brown tape that I bought from a girl on my street. My mom threw it away because I guess it's not socially acceptable for an 8 year-old to own.

What's the first concert you saw? My mom took us to see The Lovin' Spoonful. I wish I had a cooler answer.

What's your favorite concert you've ever been to? The Suicide Machines at the old Boston's. I had to go alone because no one else wanted to go. However, it turned out to be so much fun because I had no one to impress, so I skanked until I couldn't feel my face.

Preferred format: CD, vinyl, cassette, 8-Track or digital? Digital, but I can't find my iPod right now, so I guess CD.

What's your favorite CD? The Black Album (Jay-Z). It got me through my last year of college, and it also made me hyper-sensitive to the presence of police officers (don't want to explain that one).

Who is your favorite singer or band? I love Bane and Jay-Z -- tie.

What was your favorite new or new-to-you album from 2010? Adele, 19. It came out a year or two prior, but I was on the late train and didn't really listen to it until 2010.

What one song would you play if you had a world-wide radio audience? "Humpty Dance," Digital Underground.

Who is your favorite local artist? The Format. I know they are defunct and perhaps not hip enough, but I don't care.

What is your favorite local venue to see music? The Nile.
