DJ Scene to Appear at The Mint Grand Opening in Old Town Scottsdale

We've already profiled the pan-Asian tapas Chef Johnny Chu is bringing to The Mint, Old Town Scottsdale's newest nightlife destination, on our food blog, but now we've got some bonafide party action to report on, as The Mint is set to make its presence known with a big time bash.

The Mint is part restaurant, part lounge, and all swanky, with design features like the original vault door (a holdover from the building's past as a bank), a 30-foot bar in the main room, and a specialty champagne bar in the co-ed bathroom (for real). The Mint comes from the mind of Dean Solver, the same restaurateur who brought Sandbar and RnR to Arizona.

The spot opens up officially on Wednesday, May 25, and DJ Scene, who's performed with everyone from Nas to Sir Mix-A-Lot, is scheduled to bring his signature hip-hop mixes to the party.

The stop at Mint is just one of DJ Scene's upcoming events, as he's touring the country dropping mixes like these:

The Mint!?!? Serious? There's already a bar in Tucson by that name. I'm not an attorney or anything, but don't they have rights to the name, The Mint, statewide?
