Watch Steve Nash Get a Lapdance from Nicki Minaj

Categories: Video

Steve Nash really seems eager to rub Phoenix's collective nose in the fact that he's hanging out with pop musicians instead of playing basketball this April.

While the first round of the NBA playoffs is in full swing, the team Nash leads is no part of it, leaving him free to do things like pal around with Canadian indie rockers Arcade Fire before their sold out show at Comerica Theatre last week.

Or get a lapdance from Pink Friday singer-rapper Nicki Minaj during her set at Lil' Wayne's "I'm Still Music" tour last night at U.S. Airways Center. Check it out in the above video.

"I think I just got a lapdance from @nickiminaj?" he tweeted.

Yes, yes you did, Steve.

This happened on the same floor where Nash would have been playing basketball this week had he not failed as the leader of an underperforming Phoenix Suns squad. Alas, he's busy having Minaj rub her giant and gross fake ass on him instead.

While Nash is no longer a married man, his career in politics would surely take a hit as a result of this..... were he planning one.... which he's probably not. Ahem.

By the way, Suns season tickets for 2011-12 go on sale here!

Judging by how content the team's captain is to lose 42 games and spend his spring partying you should have your evenings free by, oh, about this time next year.

I wish you'd spend more time proof reading and enhancing your objectivity skills rather than eating/breathing in your off time, Cizzy.. please? I mean.. you get paid for this shit.

Wow, settle down man. I think the Suns sucking wasn't on Nash. 37 year olds don't often put their team on their back on the way to a championship. Management needs to build a team around Nash, they have in the past, just not this year.

As far as tagging the post "fake ass" you sir are a hater. I hope they aren't paying you a lot to spew this hateful shit.

Please be quiet Cizmar. Nash can do whatever he wants.

It's the Suns managements fault they aren't in the playoffs this year. They surrounded him with a shitty team. From not resigning Amare, to the signing Hedo Turkoglu in the offseason which threw off the entire chemistry, to trading Jason Richardson part way through the year, giving no time to gell with Vince Carter (although Gortat did fit in nicely), to trading Goran Dragic for Aaron Brooks who is going to be leaving this offseason anyways.

It is in no way Nash's fault the Suns failed this season. He did his part and put up the numbers. The dudes in his late 30's and he's still a top NBA point guard!

There's a reason you're a music writer and not a sports writer Cizmar.

He didn't look like he enjoyed it... he actually looked kind of scared. I would be scared too if I got a lap dance from an alien. I bet his pants smelled like corned beef after she rubbed her junk on them.on a side note.. why wasn't she actually singing? she was holding a mic, but it was a recording of a song that was playing and she wasn't even lip syncing. I don't get it.

I don't think it's a big deal. I don't normally go to Ric Flair for advice, but I'm a fan of his thoughts on losing: "What? Am I supposed to go home & cry? I'm partying tonight!"

That said, it's pretty ironic because of it taking place at the US Airways Center where, as you noted, the playoffs would be happening had Phoenix not fallen short this season. (I put that squarely on Suns owner Robert Sarver and his tendency to force decent folks away from the Suns organization. The only great thing he ever did was green light the Los Suns jerseys last year as a statement against 1070.)

Adding a little to the irony is one of Minaj's verse from "Did It on 'Em": "All these bitches is my sons ... and I'm not talking about Phoenix. Last night seemed to be all about Phoenix. (To be fair, Chris Paul popped the Lakers in their series opener for 33 points and 14 assists after receiving a Minaj lap dance. So, maybe things'll look up next season for the Suns.)

In any case, I actually expect some people to make a big deal on the basis of Nash's nice guy image, which I'm sure some will see as tarnished for receiving a public lap dance.

Chill out.....any NBA player would love to get a quick Nicki Minaj lap dance-even teams in the playoffs-with the fake derriere!! Lol

If he practiced shooting 3's all day, I guess I would give him a pass... but it sure looks to me like he's partying instead of feeling shitty about his season. Which, when you're the 37-year-old captain of the winning-est NBA team without a ring, I think maybe you need to do. If he was driven more to win he wouldn't be able to have so much damn fun right now, I think.

He had a shitty team which played a shitty season and the guy doesn't deserve a few weeks off? Really?

Martin, I bet you have never played high level sports in your life. The man just got done with his season. Do you know if he was in the gym shooting for a few hours earlier in the day? You make it seem like he is supposed to be sitting at his home depressed because they only thing that matters if he is in the playoffs or not. Nash is probably most dedicated athlete in all of pro basketball from his training regement, eating habits, and to his teamates. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Im sorry, wouldnt you want to party it up after you found out your wife had an affair with a former teammate, and had his child (which was pretty obvious in the delivery room). And on top of that, tried to lead a team which seemed to have no potential for greatness this year. PARTY it up NASH.... You deserve it.

nevermind there are 11 other guys on the team, and a front office that didnt exactly help out with midseason trades and some questionable offseason acquisitions. lay off the guy, not like he planned for the lap dance and tipped her.

Here's Nash's tweet from 11 hours before the lap-dance tweet: "Went to the park to shoot jumpers this morning. What else am I going to do?" If you're questioning Nash's work-ethic and desire to win, then you obviously don't know anything about Nash or his reputation around the league. The man works tirelessly to keep himself in top form, through a ridiculous diet and exercise program. The Suns have known that they've been out of the playoffs for a matter of weeks now (and by no fault of Nash's, who led the league in assists this year at 37), so he's had plenty of time to come to terms with not being in the playoffs. Though Steve Nash certainly does not need me to stand up for him, I will until my last breath, as I have vowed to combat ignorance on the internet; on this matter, you sir, are an ignoramus.

He's got five months off! If you get paid millions to lead a team at leas act like you care that you're not even in the first round of the NBA playoffs... which a slightly above .500 record would have done.

It does seem to draw them, does it not?

Perhaps the team had a meeting to see which of them deserved to be allowed to forget the campaign in enviable style and they gave it to the Nash, but that sort of thing doesn't write as well as a pointed attack. Er, read as well. No, definitely the former.

With NT it's clear you're going to get opinion pieces rather than objective (or - gasp - supportively subjective) journalism, which is disappointing.

great post, man. Good way to shut haters down!

And to do that he needs to stay home?

What if he was shooting 3s for eight hours today? Does that sway your opinion?

He plays hard when we have games and stays clean during the season. Moping about a shitty season with a shitty team doesn't really do anything.
