The Stone Foxes, "I Killed Robert Johnson"

• no he's not dead. i know him. the band is not the same without him. the 3 guys left can't sing to say the least. i saw them in LA and it felt like a high school band. the highlight is definitely when those other 2 guys come out and the big drummer yells into harmonica microphone. still I was hoping for "I Killed Robert Johnson" but they apparently don't play those songs anymore.

• i think you're wrong about it - they never mentioned anything about it on their website. his name is Avi Vinocur and he's not in the band anymore. his songs were my favorite part. i certainly hope he is not dead!!

• i heard on the news that lead singer from san francisco band died in a car crash, but they didn't say the band name so I could be wrong

• oops sorry didn't mean to post my comment twice. but i really do love the foxes first two cd's and seeing them live, this new band i don't like nearly as much!

• this a great song too bad they aren't playing it anymore. today the stone foxes certainly are lacking this original and gutsy sound they had as a quartet. the trio just doesn't cut and when they bring out their friends from strange vine to try and remedy the missing element from the original line up it improves on the trio but still doesn't touch how good they sounded in their original configuration. songs like i killed robert johnson, and the original way they all traded their instruments through out their set was really unique. they brought something very new and different to the classic rock and blues sound they borrowed from the many greats.
