First Ever Twitter Cover Band Created

A group called Tw1tterband (@tw1tterband) has become the first Twitter music group, according to Paste.

The project began when an Englishman named Richard Newman decided to reach out for singers, musicians and producers via Twitter to make a cover song together in honor of his two year Twitter anniversary.

Just a few short days later, Tw1tterband pulled off a pretty solid cover of the Smiths' "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want." They even got some feedback from the Smiths' guitarist Johnny Marr himself.

"Nice job. I'm touched," Marr tweeted to Tw1tterband.

The group has raised over £2,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support. Way to go, Twitter donators!
