Bad Cactus Brass Band, Sugar Thieves, and Hot Birds & the Chili Sauce to Bring Mardi Gras Funk to CityScape
Things should be plenty funky around CityScape tonight. From 6 p.m. to midnight, the downtown hub will be bustling with rowdy folks celebrating Mardi Gras. Festivities are sure to include elaborate costumes, giant puppets, stiltwalkers, and, of course, barrels of bawdy music to soundtrack your last night of indiscretion before Lent.
Among those set to perform are Valley blues-rockers Sugar Thieves, soul-funkers Hot Birds and the Chili Sauce, and most appropriately, Bad Cactus Brass Band, whose brand of New Orleans-style parade jazz will get CityScape feeling as much like the Big Easy as possible.
Best of all? There's no charge to get into the party.
