Context: Today's pick was actually chosen on account of how annoying it is. Why would The Strokes choose to release a stupid 30-second snippet of a single they're going to "give away" for two days next week? I guess they really want to up the hype -- and it's working, I'm writing about it -- but after a stunt like this Angles better be awesome since I think the collective reservoir of good will toward the band is drying up. If Girl Talk can give away his entire album certainly The Strokes can let us stream their whole first single, or at least not pretend to be doing something nice.
