There's lots of big name acts in this week's just announced shows as the always-busy spring slate of shows are finally being announced. The huge Arcade Fire show was gleefully announced last Friday by Martin Cizmar, so I really need not write about the recent Album of the Year Grammy winners. Besides, someone would just take a full-page ad out in The New York Times to argue against my post.

Alas, I must celebrate Japanese metal pioneers Loudness, who are playing an intimate gig at Club Red May 21. I remember first watching the video for their hit 1985 single "Crazy Nights" and simply wondering what the hell was going on -- mainly why the hell a Japanese metal band was singing a song in English. Such was the charm of the appropriately named Loudness.

Joining Loudness with just announced shows of their own are Talib Kweli, Bruno Mars, Janelle Monae and John Vanderslice.
