Edward Sharpe

Perhaps you've noticed that the ever-schizophrenic McDowell Mountain Music Festival alternates between hardcore jammy shit and cool kinda-indie shit.  Flaming Lips and Matisyahu one year, Steve Kimock and Crazy Engine and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals the next.

The 2011 lineup has been announced for the festival -- again in the parking lot outside Compound Grill -- and it's got a little of both, though indie fans may be disappointed to learn the two acts at the top of their bill, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, are closing things down on Sunday night.

Still, there's plenty to be excited about here. Full lineup and this year's poster below.
