Believe it or not, there's some weird dudes that call themselves Akron/Family in there
Christmas came early for Phoenix Akron/Family fans. The folk/experimental/psychedelic rock trio has "emerged from their Volcanic cavern in Japan" and are headed to The Rhythm Room this April 4.

Last we checked in with the Akron/Family guys, their publicist had sent quite possibly the most amazing press release ever, chock full of details about their forthcoming mouthful of an album S/T II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT -- an album written in a cabin on the side of Mount Meaken on the Japanese island of Hokkaido and, subsequently, recorded in an abandoned train station in Detroit.

If this all makes sense to you, then you're all set for Akron/Family's show this April. For those not salivating at the news of psych rock weirdness, Yann Tiersen, Loretta Lynn and Plain White T's have just announced shows of their own.
