Incoming: Little Dragon, No Age, Wild Nothing, Tennis, The Moody Blues, Amy Grant
| Is this the greatest Christmas album of all time? |
Other artists may have released their own successful Christmas albums in the past, but Grant's 1992 yuletide juggernaut Home For Christmas resides in the upper echelon of holiday albums -- right there with Mariah Carey's Merry Christmas and Hanson's Snowed In.
Oddly enough, neither Grant, Carey nor the Hanson boys hold an Advent wreath candle to Kenny G's Miracles: The Christmas Album, which is the biggest selling Christmas album of all time -- by over 2 million copies.
That means Kenny G's Christmas album has sold well over 7 million copies -- happy birthday Jesus, hope you like crap!
I digress -- perhaps you consider Mariah Carey's Merry Christmas to be the greatest Christmas album, and that's hard to argue, what with "All I Want For Christmas Is You" being one of the best Christmas songs ever recorded (yeah, I said it). Amy Grant's Home For Christmas has to right there, too, at least in your mother's eyes. Besides, she's the only one recording Christmas music that actually gives a shit about the religious aspect of the holiday. You win, Amy Grant -- you win.
Joining Grant with just announced shows of their own are Little Dragon, No Age, Wild Nothing, Tennis and The Moody Blues.
