Alice Cooper Headed to Rock Hall of Fame
| Alice Cooper will be inducted to Rock's hall of fame. |
Congratulations, Alice, you're headed to Cleveland.
Alice Cooper, the shock rocker raised and residing in Phoenix (Detroit is also trying to claim him today) has been selected for enshrinement in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum on the shores of Lake Erie.
Tom Waits, Neil Diamond, Dr. John and Darlene Love round out the class of 2011.
The LA Times has catergorized Cooper's selection as a make-up call:
"When cartoonish rock band KISS made the nominee list last year, many fans objected, saying that Cooper, a.k.a. Vincent Furnier, had established the template for outrageously theatrical hard rock and deserved to be voted in first," writes Randy Lewis.
