L.A. electro-clash act Little Red Radio is scheduled to perform at this Friday's Sticky Fingers
William Fucking Reed, and the other DJs behind Sticky Fingers have decided to wash their hands of Rips. They're leaving behind the vintage dive bar, which has served as the original home of the trendy rock 'n' roll dance night since it launched back in April, and headed for the much bigger Bar Smith.

The downtown Phoenix dancing den has much more space where Reed and his crew can "fully realize" their vision for the weekly event, he says, including adding snazzier lighting elements and a larger "custom DJ façade."

There will be plenty of new faces to go along with Sticky Fingers' new home, including DJ Radar and Tricky T spinning on the first floor. The relaunch party this Friday will also feature a special spin gig by Andy Marlow (formerly of Ima Robot) and a performance by L.A. electroclash band Little Red Radio.

the author of this forgot to mention that they moved because the owner of Rip's is a racist and homophobe.

i honestly cant blame owners, these nights bring in $$$ and raise awareness of their spot. i personally just got annoyed that the bar across the street from me was completely unusable (for me) on friday nights without having to pay a cover just to have a beer or two.

it's only a matter of time before the cockroach-like hipster hordes have moved on to every bar in the valley to "fully realize their (no doubt cocaine impaired) vision." i wanna hit every bar owner who's ever let their decent establishment become a haven for "hipster dj nights" over the head with a newspaper and yell, "no!" "no!"
