Glastonbury Going Green... But Who's Playing?

Worthy Farm, home to the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts in the UK, now boasts what festival organizer Michael Eavis calls "the best solar power system in the country," according to NME.

The cluster of 1,116 solar panels that is fixed on top of the cowshed at Worthy Farm is projected to save 100 tons of carbon. Since it can annually generate enough power for 40 homes, and power not used at the Festival will go into the National Grid. The project has been in the works for five years. Eavis clearly meant business when he decided to go green.

Solar panels or no solar panels, the Glastonbury Festival is still consistently one of the fastest selling festivals every year, Eavis' movement of going green can only give fans something extra to look forward to on top of a lineup that will undoubtedly not disappoint anyone.
